Diaphragm air compressors and vacuum pumps are designed to transfer various gases, even those with particles. The diaphragm technology provides a high efficiency, sealed air flow capability, and platform modularity. Thanks to that, these positive displacement pumps can successfully be used as vacuum pumps or compressors.
Thomas diaphragm air pumps and compressors are characterized by their leak-proof chamber, operational water vapor tolerance, and outstanding chemical compatibility. Our engineers were able to achieve an excellent size to performance ratio and full controllability over the working point of these models.
Our state-of-the-art engineering and design guarantee a sealed air path and reliability. We provide a selection of materials for the pump head and membrane based on a chemical resistance to the media being transferred. Our customers can choose EPDM, FKM (Viton), Silicone, NBR (Perbunan) or PTFE (Teflon) as the material for the diaphragm and valves, depending on the model selected.
We provide both AC and DC motors to drive the unit, ranging from the low-cost DC to the brushless DC that can proudly deliver performance for over 10,000 hours. Despite the various motor options, membrane pumps can use pump heads with single or twin motors. Our diaphragm gas pump units can work in series or parallel configurations. What's more, in smaller devices multiple pumps can be replaced with one Thomas pump unit.
Thomas diaphragm air compressors and pumps provide a flow rate ranging from 0.010 cfm (300 ml/min) up to 3.2 cfm (91 l/min), with a vacuum of up to 1 mbar abs (29.2 inHg) and the pressure reaching 3.0 bar (44 psi).
Our engineers take the extra mile to meet the most rigorous application and project requirements. Thomas’s diaphragm pump platform can be extensively customized, depending on the model series, giving you virtually unlimited configuration options.
This allows us to offer one of the broadest portfolios of diaphragm air pumps and compressors on the market today. Our 27 series come in various configurations, providing you over 100,000 units.
Thanks to their high efficiency, sealed air chamber, and low sound levels, air-operated diaphragm pumps and compressors are the perfect fit for a whole range of industries and applications. Mission-critical and portable devices use our diaphragm pumps as transfer pumps and compressed air supply.
Air-operated diaphragm pumps work by reducing the volume in the pump chamber with the help of a flexible membrane in the pump head. A connecting rod assembly moves the membrane up and down by reciprocating about the motor shaft using an eccentric. These positive displacement pumps have a leak-proof pump chamber, operational water vapor tolerance, and outstanding chemical compatibility. The design allows them to transfer various gases, even those with particles.
