In wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems, a scrubbing liquid containing an alkali reagent is used to enhance the absorption of SO2 and other acid gases. The wet FGD scrubber is designed for constant re-circulation of the reagent slurry, and is designed to operate at or near 100% capacity at all times. To maximize power production at all times, only minor variations in the flow should affect the forced oxidation blowers. To meet this demanding task, plants have trusted HOFFMAN & LAMSON blowers.
