Emco Wheaton offers a broad selection of state-of-the-art swivel joints capable of transferring a wide variety of gasses, fluids and food products. They can be used in a large number of medium, heavy and specialized applications in industries including chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas. Whether you use swivel joints for piping systems or loading arms, they allow for flexibility and adaptability while providing safety and reliability.
Swivel joints are utilized for transporting liquids and gasses between two pieces of equipment and are a key element of loading arms. They are articulations enabling a movable connection of two pipes in situations when the use of a hose is not possible. Swivel joints provide mobility and adaptability, while not compromising the safety and reliability of the piping system.
Emco Wheaton’s swivel joints feature an inner and outer part joined by one or two integrated ball tracks. They relieve pipeline stress and prevent bends that could potentially reduce flow or result in pipe rips and product leaks. When multiple swivel joints are combined together, they ensure 360° rotation across all planes.
Our swivel joints are equipped with a product-specific seal. The seal is pressed against the axial sealing surface through prestressing or with the help of a spring. Some models feature precision-finished sealing surfaces plated with stainless steel. The sealing of Emco Wheaton’s swivel joints meets the requirements of environmental protection regulations.
Depending on the media being handled and the customer’s specific process needs, our swivel joints are offered in many variants. Various materials of product-carrying parts are on offer. Customized options are available to make sure Emco Wheaton swivel joints optimize our customers’ liquid or gas transfer, whatever the application.

Made of high-quality materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum, Emco Wheaton’s swivel joints are engineered to provide maximum safety and longevity. Their exact load capacity depends on the particular swivel joint type and the characteristics of the given application. Emco Wheaton’s offering includes:
The D2000 swivel joint is engineered to optimize a wide range of fluid handling applications. Featuring an innovative sandwich design, the D2000 combines a high load capacity with leak-proof characteristics to maximize operational integrity. The compact dimensions and variety of materials on offer provide the flexibility to tailor the D2000 to be used in a wide range of applications.
The D2000 PTFE swivel joint is designed for heavy duty and specialized applications. Building on the standard swivel joint, the D2000 PTFE features a carbon steel construction with PTFE lining. This makes it ideal for handling extremely aggressive products.
The swivel ball tracks are sealed with two O-rings to prevent dirt or product from seeping in. A leak detection port provides a clear indication in case of a seal breach or failure.
Emco Wheaton’s D0002 is a heavy duty single track swivel joint that is ideal for most applications. Featuring a hardened and polished ball track and stainless steel plated seal surfaces, the D0002 guarantees precision and extends service life, even under extreme loads. Available in carbon and low temperature steel, the D0002 swivel has an operating temperature of 25 bar, and –60 °C to +250 °C.
The D1133 provides a compact, low-weight solution for nearly all chemical transfer applications. Building on the features of the D0002, the D1113 adds sealed ball tracks to prevent dirt or product from breaching the ball bearings. With a full stainless steel construction, the D1133 is ideal for handling aggressive media.
The D1010 swivel joint is made of a special aluminum alloy. Supplied without hardened ball tracks, it is suitable for normal loads only. Aluminum swivel joints have no especially plate seal faces due to the chosen alloy.
Cryogenic Swivel Joints
The Emco Wheaton swivel joint is specifically designed for cryogenic applications such as LNG. High-strength alloy construction ensures best-in-class performance in regard to mechanical strength in temperatures as low as -196°C.
