Vacuum Oven

Vacuum ovens are used for drying sensitive substances that may be damaged by excessive heat, and for applications that require extremely low residual moisture levels.

Depending on the solvents used, and the temperature limitations of the samples and chamber, a medium to high ultimate vacuum should be chosen for the pump. WOB-L piston pumps or diaphragm pumps are recommended for standard duty aqueous applications as they are best capable of handling the large quantities of vapour that may be generated from the oven. In cases where chemical resistance is required (acidic, organic and basic applications), PTFE-constructed diaphragm pumps should be used to ensure longevity of the pump components.
