The conventional method of a valve/seat system in a high-pressure reciprocating pump utilizes a wing guided valve/seat with metal-to-metal surface to seal the high-pressure water. This metal-to-metal seat is not resilient to solid particles in the water, and as a result, the valve/seat has a reduced lifespan. Valves with elastomer seals are a solution to this solid particulate issue in the water by providing an initial sealing at low pressure and blocking the solid before the metal-to-metal sealing at high-pressure. We call this a Soft-Seated [HS1] Valve, the first in the market, to be able to seal pressure up to 20,000 PSI. Our patented design is resistant to water particulate, but still has the durability and reliability of the metal-to-metal seal.
Gardner Denver 150 HP TY-300HX pump is a state-of-the-art triplex pump with patented Gardner Denver Quick Change and patented Soft Seated Valves. This pump is a stronger 150 HP pump in a robust yet efficient frame. The rod load is increased to 10,000lbs allowing for more pressure with the same flow. This will increase efficiency as more of the engine’s power is directed to the cleaning or blasting or hydrostatic testing.
There is always that challenge to be able to have both the versatility in pressure and flow. In the world of plunger change-outs, if you increase the flow then you have to increase the size of the valves. That would require you to store extra size valves for extra flow options. The only other option would be to go back to smaller valves in 20 KPSI.
With the Gardner Denver line of quick change fluid ends, there is no valve change out required. These pumps only need new plungers for packing and brass. The cross bore technology incorporated in the new Gardner Denver TY-300 HX allows for increased pressure to 20,000 PSI and increased flow at 8,000 PSI.
