Rotary Screw Air Compressors

The oil lubricated air compressor is a displacement compressor and is the predominant compressor type in use today.

The Rotary Screw Compressor, screw compression element main parts comprise male and female rotors that move towards each other while the volume between them and the housing decreases.

The screw element is not equipped with any valves and there are no mechanical forces to create any imbalance. It can therefore combine a large flow rate with small exterior dimensions.  Since the screw compression element is the heart of the compressor CompAir keeps the design and manufacture in-house, using the latest CNC rotor grinding machinery, coupled with online laser technology for the utmost rotor profile accuracy.

The above airends in these oil lubricated air compressors can be driven by either a fixed or regulated speed (RS) motor, airflows range from 0.24 m²/min to 47 m²/min and power outputs from 2.2 kW to 250 kW. Regulated speed compressors can efficiently and reliably handle the varying air demands found in most plant air systems, achieving energy savings of up to 25%.

All models from 15 kW can be equipped with integrated heat recovery, to help recover the energy lost in heat.

 The high output compression element actually has a slower rotational speed than conventional screw compressors to reduce energy usage and increase reliability.

This results in energy savings over the lifetime of the compressor, as shown in the graph.
