TriContinent provides a wide range of various syringe pump modules known for their long-lasting and exceptional quality. They are designed for precision and accuracy and offer a unique combination of stable low flow and low pulsation for various liquid handling applications, including IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics).
TriContinent offers a seamless replacement for industry standard syringe pumps using the Cavro® protocol. We provide industry-standard syringe pump modules for OEM laboratory instruments that provide the highest accuracy and precision (C-Series and CX-Series) as well as affordable solutions for all standard pipetting tasks (AccuPump and BasePump). The available syringe sizes ranges from 50 µl up to 12.5 ml (C-Series and CX-Series).
Our syringe pump modules offer the following features for your application and instruments:
TriContinent’s rotary valve can last for up to four million switching cycles, which has been shown during a competitive valve study. The syringe and the tubes have to be replaced from time to time, while the drive mechanism is designed to work for several years.
TriContinent syringe pump modules are ideal for lab automation, life science and instrument manufacturers who are looking to maximize the investment they have already made in their existing instrumentation.
All of our products utilize standard communication protocols and mounting configurations used by other compact syringe pump designs, eliminating expensive and time-consuming re-development.
At TriContinent, we are able to customize our products to the exact requirements of our client’s application. We have a long and successful history of providing application-specific OEM syringe pumps for our customers. These can vary from simple modifications of standard products or liquid handling (XYZ) robots to melding existing technology platforms’ key features. We also provide completely custom-designed and accessories to reduce service costs and field failures in our customer’s existing instruments.
A leading developer of next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies turned to TriContinent to help them evolve their equipment to perform precise targeted resequencing, small-genome sequencing, and in-vitro diagnostics (IVD). The company’s goal was to incorporate a high-precision syringe pump to efficiently handle patient samples and reagents with accuracy and a low risk of carryover. Read our case study to see how our modified C3000 unit provided exactly what the customer was seeking.
We offer Rotary Shear Valves that are well-known in the industry for their unsurpassed long lifetime and reliability. By using our rotary valves, your instrument will benefit from longer up-time, lower service costs, and increased customer satisfaction.
TriContinent’s syringe pumps work by filling a syringe with the desired medium (aspiration) and emptying the syringe (dispensing) after changing the flow path with a valve. They consist of three components: a syringe, a drive mechanism, and a valve which is often a so-called rotary shear valve. The simplest case is a 3-port valve where one port is connected with the syringe, another port acts as the inlet, and the third port serves as the outlet port.
What does the workflow look like?
The process of infusion and withdrawal repeats until the syringe is empty. Once done, the module can start aspiration of the new medium.
Our syringe pump liquid handling module can accomplish all aspiration and dispensing operations. The stepper motor-driven syringe accurately and precisely handles fluids using various volume syringes ranging from a few microliters to 12.5 milliliters. The syringe drive arm can be easily back driven, making syringe installation or replacement extremely quick and easy. Hence, the syringe pump lab automation is at the reach of your hand.
