Reavell Sinks The Competition Nato Partner Replaces all Competitor HPACs with Reavell Machines

Optimise your costs with Reavell

Gardner Denver Reavell is delighted that a decade long study conducted by a major NATO partner has resulted in its decision to replace all competitor High Pressure Air Compressors (HPACs) with the Reavell 5417N.

The cost of ownership of HPACs is a key expense that can hugely outweigh the initial cost of purchase. The purpose of the study, which commenced in 2007, was to calculate the overall running costs of Reavell HPACs versus a competitor’s machines. Trials were conducted throughout the operational lives of a line of La Fayette frigates. The independent study indisputably concluded that the competitor’s machines were outperformed by Reavell’s in terms of reliability and cost of maintenance.

Reavell’s Considerable Cost Savings Revealed

The performance of Reavell’s HPACs left the study’s project team in no doubt of their recommendation, which was to replace all the competitor’s machines with Reavell’s 5417N compressors. Because the through-life costs of a Reavell machine are significantly lower, even after the complex
decommissioning process of the rival’s compressors, cost savings to the navy and to taxpayers will be considerable.

For industrial, marine, offshore and naval operations that use publicly funded money, the focus must be on sourcing reliable and low-cost machines and products. Since the first Reavell machine was installed on a British naval ship in 1905, the brand has been synonymous with providing reliable and maintainable products for the world’s leading navies.

Peter Satchwell, Sales Director, Reavell, commented, “We are delighted with the result of this important study. Our commitment to developing machines with low through life costs has long been an important focus, and we are immensely proud that this has been proven and acknowledged by a world-leading navy. The 5417N HPACs offer outstanding performance, operational efficiency and reliability and, as recognised by our customer, will generate long-term value and significant cost savings.”
