Certified for Medical Use

These Elmo Rietschle branded vacuum systems are used to supply vacuum from a central location in hospitals and are CE-certified per 93/42/EEC. They are assigned to class IIa and meet the requirements of ISO 7396-1.

These systems basically consist of the rack containing the vacuum pumps, the bacteriological filtration unit, the electronic control panel with controller, and a vacuum reservoir. Various designs and sizes are available as needed. These systems can be expanded to include 1, 2 or 3 additional vacuum pumps that are installed and supplied with electrical power in a separate frame and that are controlled by the main system as the master.

Features

Single stage air cooled oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps

  • Installled rack
  • Includes control panel
  • Bacteriological filter
  • Isolation class F protection class 55
  • Wear-free vanes
  • Low noise level
  • Easy access to filter elements for service

Bacteriological filters

Bacteriological filters make sure that the vacuum pumps cannot draw in solid particles or bacterial and organic substances which put the pump at risk. At the same time they prevent such substances from being released into the ambient air.

The bacteriological filter unit consists of 2 filters arranged in parallel that can be operated in alternation with the aid of a manual shutoff valve. Each filter has sufficient capacity to handle the flow rate needed for the entire system. The multiple-layer filter insert consists of an initial outer pre-filter layer with a penetration rate of 0.005 % to protect the inner microfiber layers, which have been treated with an antibacterial agent. Our bacteriological filters meet the requirements of BS 3298.

Vacuum Reservoirs

Vacuum reservoirs ensure that a stable vacuum is maintained in the system. They are available for 500, 1,000 and 2,000 litres either in vertical or optionally horizontal design. The reservoirs are equipped with vacuum gauge and relief valve.

Monitoring Equipment

The vacuum systems are designed and equipped with a wide range of monitoring equipment for medical apllications to check:

  • Oil level
  • Oil temperature
  • Unacceptably high ambient temperature
  • Unusually high dfferential pressure  indicating that the suction filter is loading up
  • Data can be transferred to control panel
