Field Service Technician - Birmingham, AL

Summary:

Travel to and work at customers’ jobsites and assist in start up or trouble shooting pump/vacuum/compressor equipment supplied by Gardner Denver Nash. Present maintenance seminars to train customers in the operations of Gardner Denver Nash equipment and promote service.

Responsibilities:

Visit customers to correct installation/pump problems and sell aftermarket services.
Evaluate on-site customers' warranty claims and determine the validity of these claims.
Operate boroscope to inspect customers’ pumps, analyze results and communicate customer's options for repair. Run site performance tests on GDN equipment to determine if equipment needs replacement or repair.
Repair pumps on site or at the service center.
Work on the shop floor to repair equipment when not performing on-site customer duties.

Qualifications:

5 years' experience repairing/trouble shooting large rotating equipment. Experience selling/promoting Service and Repair to customers.
A quick learner who is a self-starter and results-oriented to become a key team player.
Demonstrated skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment are a must.
Working knowledge of machining concepts and processes with large rotating equipment. Experience with pumps, vacuums and compressors is a plus.
Must be available to work overtime when needed.
Must be available to travel overnight and work at customer sites for up to 5 days.
High School/Technical School Graduate
